Fatherhood
Showing up, staying curious, and learning that strength often looks like tenderness.
Meet Josh
I am a writer, teacher, photographer, veteran, and father of five learning to find meaning in the distance between the life we expected and the one we are actually living.

The unexpected road
For a long time, I believed the meaningful life was the one we built according to plan. Then life taught me that some of our deepest growth happens when the map no longer matches the road beneath our feet.
I have served as a soldier and pastor, led organizations, advised businesses, taught in classrooms, written through difficult seasons, and raised five children who continually remind me what truly matters. Each role has changed me. None of them tells the whole story by itself.
Today, my work lives at the intersection of honest storytelling, thoughtful leadership, faith, healing, fatherhood, and adventure. Whether I am writing an essay, teaching a class, photographing a landscape, or sitting across from someone in conversation, I am drawn to the same question: What can this road teach us?
What shapes the work
Showing up, staying curious, and learning that strength often looks like tenderness.
A faith sturdy enough for honest questions, complicated seasons, and grace.
The difficult, courageous work of becoming open without pretending the wounds never happened.
Helping people and organizations move forward with clarity, compassion, and integrity.
Mountains, rivers, and unfamiliar roads that remind us how alive we still are.
The work
Everything here grows from the same desire: to make room for honest stories and help people find meaning in the terrain they did not choose.
Beyond the bio
You will usually find me near a mountain, on a river, behind a camera, holding a guitar, teaching something I love, or spending time with the five people who have taught me the most about becoming human.
The road ahead
If something in this story resonates, I would be glad to hear yours.
